Jamie Murray has said there’s a good possibility that he will appear with his brother Andy in the doubles draw this Wimbledon.
Ranked eighth in doubles, Jamie Murray had earlier decided to feature together once at the All England Club before retirement and this could be that season.
Speaking at The Two Barrys Tennis Takeaway podcast, Jamie admitted it would be ‘cool’ to take to courts with Andy this year at Wimbledon. Andy Murray is currently rehabilitating from his hip surgery, having earlier said he might have to retire from the sport because of his fitness concerns. He had expressed hope to feature one last time at Wimbledon.
Following his surgery, things have looked lot more positive for Murray, at least going by his own estimate on social media, and he was last videoed hitting balls at the outside courts at Wimbledon with Annett Kontaveit, the world number 15 from Estonia.

When asked about the possibility of Andy playing doubles, 33-year-old Jamie said:
“Obviously people are talking about that and who knows? Maybe he will decide he wants to play doubles more regularly if singles is going to be too difficult after the surgery.”
He added the brothers had often spoken about playing doubles at Wimbledon at least once and “maybe this year is our only chance”.
Jamie also exercised caution though, and said:
“We will have to see but I hope that he gets back and he’s feeling like he can get out there and compete to the level that he’s used to.”
Murray underwent surgery for his continuously struggling hip after having last featured at the Australian Open this year. He was sent out in five sets in round one of the tournament and while things weren’t looking good earlier, he has now said there’s a possibility of him returning to feature at the Wimbledon.
