Karolina Pliskova v Karolina Muchova Head to Head

In their one and only encounter on the tour in the Australian Open earlier this year, Pliskova trumped the 22-year-old Muchova with 6-3, 6-2.

Muchova, Creating Waves in Wimbledon

The 22-year-old Muchova made her debut on the tour in the 2017 Korea Open and since then, has come a long way on the circuit as a player. This year, she reached her maiden final on the tour in the Prague Open, where she lost to Jill Teichmann in the final match.

However, her best showing till date is undoubtedly her run at SW19, where she has been nothing short of remarkable. Playing with a level of maturity and confidence mostly in the experienced players, Muchova has been taking care of business like she was born into it.

She is yet to drop a set, quite impressively, with her most recent win coming against the number 20 seed Anett Kontaveit. Muchova defeated the Estonian in an hour and 34 minutes with 7-6(9), 6-3, committing just 14 unforced errors in the match. Her other victims were Aleksandra Krunic and Madison Brengle.

Pliskova Aces the Hsieh Test

After starting her campaign for the maiden Wimbledon title with absolute ease, courtesy of straight-set wins over Lin Zhu and Monica Puig, Pliskova met Su-Wei Hsieh in the third round. It was there for the first time that the Czech No. 1 was tested.

It demanded Pliskova to play for three sets that ultimately saw her wrap up the match with 6-3, 2-6, 6-4. She dished out 42 winners and made just 22 unforced errors, impressive by all means.

Having won the WTA Eastbourne just a couple of weeks back, she arrived in London with an impeccable amount of momentum and confidence. Her job got easier when she placed in a relatively easy draw. Obviously, Pliskova has made the most of it and now, looks determined to reach the quarters.

Pliskova v Muchova Predictions & Tips

In this battle of the Karolina, we can most definitely expect the number 3 seed to come out on the top. She has the experience and more importantly, that level of consistency needed to perform at this stage of the tournament. Throughout this season, she has been absolutely brilliant with three titles already under her belt. There is no reason why she may succumb to the rising Muchova.

Tip: Over 17.5 games in the match. (888Sport)
