Alexander Zverev v Filip Krajinovic Head to Head

This will be the first meeting between the two players on the ATP tour.

Zverev Aiming at a Title Run In Hometown

After a disappointing start to 2019 with a string of early round defeats, it was on clay that Alexander Zverev seemed to be getting back into form, winning the ATP 250 at Geneva and a French Open quarter-finals loss to Novak Djokovic.

What followed was a poor grass court swing for the German, but he seems to be back in good form at home in Hamburg.

Zverev has displayed a strong all round game in defeating Nicolas Jarry and Federico Delbonis in straight sets en route the quarter-finals and along with Dominic Thiem, remains a front-runner for a title run this weekend.

Determined Krajinovic Looking at Career Resurgence

Serbian Filip Krajinovic has been on the ATP tour close to a decade, but has had a career plagued with injuries and related recoveries.

2017 was an excellent year for the Serb, when he ended the year ranked in the top 30 and at a career-high number 26 in early 2018. He was also a runner-up at the Paris ATP Masters 1000 that year and won five ATP Challenger titles that year. Unfortunately, Krajinovic spent most of 2018 with hand, ankle and foot injuries and fell out of the top 50 in the rankings. He is currently ranked number 58 in the world.

This has been a better year for him, with third round showings at the Australian Open and the French Open. He has looked good thus far at Hamburg, defeating upcoming countryman and number six seed Laslo Dere in straight sets and winning a tough three setter against Slovak veteran Martin Klizan.

Alexander Zverev v Filip Krajinovic Predictions & Tips

The two players have looked in good form this tournament, defeating some challenging opponents in the earlier rounds.

Krajinovic had a difficult encounter against Klizan, and the going will only get more difficult against Zverev , who is in good form and on home soil.

Zverev starts as a favorite, but Krajinovic is gutsy and resolute and will hope to make this into a contest. Expect a straight sets win and a semi-finals appearance for the Hamburg native.

Tip: Zverev to win in straight sets: 5/6 (888Sport)
