Kyle Edmund v Pablo Andujar Head to Head
The pair have played each other twice before with both winning one match each. Their first meeting was back in 2016 at the Beijing Open where the Brit came out on top in the first qualifying round match in straight sets. Whereas in their second meeting on the clay courts of Casablanca, Morocco the Spaniard won his first title in ten years as he came out on top 6-2, 6-2.
Can Edmund Fill the Murray Shoes?
With Andy Murray already on his way out, Edmund is the next big thing as far as British tennis goes. After a dream breakthrough year for the 24-year-old where he reached a career-high 14th in the rankings as well as making it to the semi-finals of the Australian Open, it has been tough going for him so far this year.
The first-round exit at Melbourne was followed by a spell on the sidelines due to an injury. Post his come back he suffered back to back second-round exits at the French Open and Wimbledon.
His form has been better on the hard courts with a decent quarter-final run at the Citi Open and a straight-set victory against world number 27 Nick Kyrgios at the Coupe Rogers in Montreal earlier this month. His record this year has been 17-16, but on hard courts, the numbers are better at 12-7.
The Brit is in the lower half of the draw and potentially faces fourth seed Austrian, Dominic Thiem in the fourth round.

Clay Court Veteran Andujar Looking for a Last Hoorah
33-year-old Andujar was once as high as world number 32 back in 2015 and has four titles so far, all of them on clay courts. Earlier this year he admitted thinking about hanging up his shoes after a disappointing Australian Open but was a regular feature during the clay-court season.
He has only played two matches on the hard courts since March and certainly comes into the tournament a little under-cooked. His record this year has been 9-11 with 8 of those victories coming on the clay court. It will be a bit of a miracle if the Spaniard makes it past Edmund and it may well be one of his last appearances at a hard court Grand Slam event.
Edmund v Andujar Predictions & Tips
Edmund has a very offensive baseline game with a powerful serve and strong double-handed backhand. Despite his up and down season so far it is difficult to see past a straight-set victory for the Brit in this match. Hard courts aren’t Andujar’s forte and his lack of form and game time on the surface is likely to make it too difficult for him to get anything from this match.
Tip: Edmund to win in straight sets: 5/6 (888Sport)
