Amanda Anisimova v Catherine Bellis Head to Head
This will be the first that these two Americans, the 28th-ranked Anisimova and 302nd-ranked Bellis will be facing off in a match at this level.

Bogoto Open champion Anisimova had climbed up to 21st in the world last season but off-court issues led to distracted focus for the 18-year-old American. She returned this season with a solid performance at the Auckland Open where she made the semifinal but lost to Serena Williams in straight sets.
A couple of shock results followed. First, at the Australian Open, Anisimova was sent packing in her opener by Zarina Diyas and then she lost her first round match at the Dubai Open to Barbora Strycova. Again, it was a three-setter.
Just before the pandemic-induced lockdown, Anisimova participated at the Qatar Open competition and for the first time since Auckland, she showed the kind of form which had propelled her near the top-20 in the rankings.
There were straight-set wins over Ekaterina Alexandrova and Elina Svitolina in that competition but unfortunately for her, a gastro-related illness struck and led her to withdraw from her quarterfinal against Svetlana Kuznetsova.
During the break, Anisimova played in the UTR Pro Match Series, losing two of her three matches and then participated in the Credit One Bank International on clay where she ended 2-0.

Bellis Hoping for Better Fitness This Year
Bellis is a former 35th-ranked player, having gotten there in 2017 but currently ranked 305th in the world. The fall came on the back of some poor form and fitness issues which have led to Bellis playing in only 31 matches since the start of 2018.
In fact, Bellis touched a season low ranking of outside 800 last year, but playing in her only tournament late in 2019, she won a couple of rounds to make it to the third round of the Houston Open.
A third round appearance at the Australian Open earlier this year has propelled her rankings forward, after having reached the second round at Hobart as well. She participated in the Young Kings Scholarship tournament during the break, winning and losing one match apiece but those came on clay.
