Petra Kvitova v Laura Siegemund Head to Head
This will be the second meeting between these two players, with Kvitova having won their only previous match. That came at the 2015 US Open when Kvitova taking that first round encounter 6-1, 6-1.

Kvitova Jets Past Another Opponent
Four rounds for Kvitova have yielded four, straight-set wins so far and for someone who wasn’t close to being a big favourite at the start of the tournament, she has jumped to being the second favourite currently.
And she certainly played like one in her fourth round win over Zhang Shuai for sure.
Needing just an hour and 25 minutes, Kvitova cruised past her Chinese opponent 6-2, 6-4, which while on expected lines also was an indicator of the Czech not losing her focus given what’s happened to the other top seeds. It’s easy to drop the guard when one’s draw becomes easier, on paper, but for Kvitova to live up to expectations of winning her fourth match in a row in straights sets is an insight on her hunger to clinch a title she hasn’t won before.
Before her rout of Zhang, she had gotten past Oceane Dodin, Jasmine Paolini and Leylah Fernandez, none of whom were seeded players in the tournament.
That might be bit of a concern for the former world number two in the times to come, but for now, as the luck of draw goes, Kvitova will be up against another unseeded opponent and one who at 32, had never reached the fourth round of a major before this. Speak of being really hungry…

Scrappy Siegemund Sees off Opponents Despite Slow Starts
Siegemund might not have played some of the heavyweights of clay court tennis in this tournament so far but draw hasn’t looked any easy for the German.
It started with Kristina Mladenovic in the first round who looked like she had full control of the first set of her opening round match but faltered to Siegemund’s never-say-die attitude and went down in straight sets.
Fellow German Julia Goerges went a step further and managed to kill Siegemund in that opening set but the latter retaliated with two stunning sets to move into the third round – her joint-best Grand Slam showing and best at Roland-Garros.
The world number 66’s third round opponent was her first seeded one and for the third match in a row, Siegemund did not have the greatest start to the match. She fought valiantly but lost the opening set, but to then come back and bagel the 13th seed and 2/5 favourite in the final set spoke volumes about Siegemund’s grit.
And in her latest match Siegemund moved past Paula Badosa, a first-timer in the fourth round herself. Siegemund needed time to settle down in the first set but once she had done that, she made it through 7-5, 6-2 to settle in to the quarterfinals.
Kvitova v Siegemund Prediction and Tip
Kvitova will look to take full toll of Siegemund’s slow starts and we can see the first set go to Kvitova in double-quick time. We see a Siegemund fightback later in the match though.
Tip: Under 9.5 games in the first set: 8/13 (bet365)
