Alexander Zverev v Miomir Kecmanovic Head to Head

In the only previous match played between Zverev and Kecmanovic before this, the Serb completed a tough three-set win over the world number seven in the second round of the Cincinnati Masters in 2019.

Zverev Yet to Lose a Match Indoors

It’s been that kind of a season for Zverev, who hasn’t lost a single match indoors this year. Featuring in the back to back ATP tournaments in Cologne, in his home country, Zverev defeated the likes of Felix Auger-Aliassime, Jannik Sinner and Diego Schwartzman at different times over those two tournaments to pocket the titles there.

What that meant was since his opening round defeat at the hands of Andy Murray in the Cincinnati Open, Zverev has lost just two matches – in the final of the US Open and the fourth round of the French Open.

Zverev would now be itching to prove himself against some of the best too and if he wins another couple of matches here, he could be in line to face Andrey Rublev in the quarterfinal. Now wouldn’t that be a delicious contest?

That, however, is a match for later times. The German will need to first get past Serbia’s Kecmanovic here.

Kecmanovic’s Ordinary Run Since Kitzbuhel

While Kecmanovic might have won his first round here at the Paris Masters against John Millman, his form has drastically dropped since his title win at the Kitzbuhel Open.

Now ranked 42nd in the world, Kecmanovic had made it to the final of that tournament with wins over Kei Nishikori and Jordan Thompson before he carved out a straight-set win over Yannick Hanfmann in the final. That was on clay but just when one thought he had got himself a hold on that surface, back to back opening defeats followed on that very surface.

And while he won a round apiece at both, the St. Petersburg Open and Cologne Open, he struggled to achieve those and he crashed out the very next round. At the Astana Open, the Serb had a first round bye but was knocked out in the second round by Frances Tiafoe.

In his opener here, Kecmanovic got off to a brisk start as he broke Millman in the third game of the first set before holding on to complete the formalities in the 10th game. An early break again for Kecmanovic looked to have sealed the deal for him but Milllman broke back immediately only to lose serve in the next game.

The Serb held on to his serve from there on, even adding to his breaks of serve to complete a facile 6-4, 6-2 win.

Zverev v Kecmanovic Prediction and Tip

The German should have no problems whatsoever in this opening match at the Paris Masters, a tournament he has reached the quarterfinal of just once. He will want to do a lot better and it will begin with a desire to win in straight sets.

Tip: Zverev to win in straight sets: 10/11 (bet365)
