Angelique Kerber v Renata Zarazua Head to Head
The pair have never met before. This will be the first match between the German, who is now 33, and the Mexican, ten years her junior.

Can Kerber Find Some Form in Florida?
Kerber has a good record in Miami – she has been a semi-finalist here, and reached the quarter-finals on three occasions, but there is little sign that the three-time Grand Slam winner is in that sort of form right now.
Apart from the Melbourne warm-up event, the Grampians Trophy, where the German got to the third round, she has had a disappointing run of results in 2021 so far, beginning with the Australian Open, where she lost in the first round to the American Bernarda Pera.
She did beat the Turk Cagla Buyukakcay in the first round in Doha, but was then well beaten by Anett Kontaveit of Estonia in their next match.
Her most recent appearance on tour was in Dubai where she suffered another first-round defeat, this time at the hands of Caroline Garcia of France in three sets.
She was given a first-round bye here in Miami.

Qualifier Zarazua Makes Round Two
Mexican qualifier Zarazua spends the majority of her time on the ITF circuit, although she did reach the second round of the French Open last year after battling through the qualifying competition, losing eventually to Elina Svitolina. More recently, she also got to the second round in Guadalajara.
She had a slice of fortune in her second qualifier here in Florida when her opponent Viktoria Kuzmova of Slovakia was forced to retire from their match with injury, but she took full advantage of that by upsetting the world 83, Nao Hibino of Japan, in the first round on Wednesday.
One break of serve was enough to give her the first set, but the second was more ragged from both players, and Hibino eventually levelled.
However, the Mexican completely dominated the third set – Hibino won just one game, and failed to hold her serve once.
Kerber v Zarazua Prediction and Tip
Kerber will star the clear favourite for this match because of her pedigree and greater experience at this level. She has not been in good recent form but this may be a chance to gain some much needed confidence.
Tip: Kerber to win: 8/15 (bet365)
