Cori Gauff v Qiang Wang Head to Head
The two players met as recently as the WTA Parma a couple of weeks ago. They met in the final match of that tournament where Gauff beat her Chinese adversary 6-1, 6-3, to clinch her maiden singles title on clay.

A Demanding Start for Gauff in Paris
The 17-year-old Cori Gauff started her run in the French Open 2021 against the Serbian Aleksandra Krunic. The match lasted for two hours and 9 minutes and saw the American win with 7-6(13), 6-4. Krunic hit twice as many winners in that game in comparison to Gauff (36 v 19) but her undoing was a slightly higher count of unforced errors.
Nonetheless, the job’s done as Gauff now looks to continue her brilliant season. Currently ranked World No. 25 – her best singles ranking yet – she arrived in Paris on the back of a superb performance in the Roland Garros tune-up events.
In WTA Parma, she won the singles and doubles title. Before that, she featured in the Italian Open where she reached the semifinal after defeating the likes of Maria Sakkari, Aryna Sabalenka, and Ashleigh Barty. Gauff was also a quarterfinalist in the Volvo Car Open and WTA Dubai, in addition to reaching the semifinal at Adelaide International.
At such a young age, she has already taken the WTA Tour by storm and is certainly a prodigy in the making.

Wang Hoping to Avenge her Parma Defeat
The final defeat in Parma to Gauff means Qiang Wang will have to wait a little while longer to win her first singles title since the 2018 Guangzhou Open. That tournament also marked the first time in years that the 29-year-old Chinese reached the singles final in a WTA tournament.
Keeping aside her performance in that Italian tournament, Wang has spent most of her season in futile attempts to move past the early rounds. In Rome and Madrid, she was beaten in the first round. In Istanbul and Miami Open, she made it to the second round but only to lose to Ana Konjuh and Marketa Voundrousova respectively.
The same was the story for the World No. 39 in the Australian Open Series and the Middle East Swing too.
In the French Open, she started her journey with a three-set win over Su-Wei Hsieh in a match that lasted for close to two and a half hours.
Gauff v Wang Prediction and Tip
Expect Gauff to win this game but it may not be the most efficient win. Wang will put up a fight but ultimately, the American should prevail given her recent form and momentum.
Tip: Gauff to win AND Over 18.5 games in the match: 11/10 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
