Karolina Muchova v Varvara Lepchenko Head to Head
This is the first meeting between the two players on the WTA Tour.

Muchova Survives Petkovic Scare
The 24-year-old Karolina Muchova started her Roland Garros campaign against the German veteran Andrea Petkovic. In a match that lasted for two hours and 12 minutes, the Czech overcame the German with 1-6, 6-3, 6-4. Expect for the first set where Muchova fumbled a bit, she was significantly better than Petkovic in all regards.
Currently ranked World No. 19 – her best singles ranking to date – Muchova hasn’t kept herself that busy on the tour. She has featured in just five tournaments so far this season and on the back of her brilliant performances there, she cracked the top 20.
The number 19 seed started the year with a dull run in the WTA Abu Dhabi. A few weeks later, she had a quarterfinal run in the Gippsland Trophy and later, reached the semifinal in the Australian Open. In the Melbourne Slam, she beat big guns like Karolina Pliskova, Elise Mertens, and Ash Barty to reach her maiden Grand Slam semifinal.
Her clay swing started in Stuttgart where she fell to Ekaterina Alexandrova in the first round. She followed that with a quarterfinal run in the Madrid Open where she beat Naomi Osaka and Maria Sakkari en route to the final eight.
While Muchova may not have won a singles title in a very long time, she is definitely making great strides towards turning that rut around.

Veteran Lepchenko Overcomes Zhang
Varvara Lepchenko kickstarted her French Open campaign with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Shuai Zhang. The 35-year-old needed just a little over 90 minutes to reach the second round here in Paris.
So far this season, she hasn’t had that great of a run on the tour. Except for the Phillip Island Trophy where she reached the second round as a qualifier, Lepchenko has lost primarily in the early rounds in all other WTA events.
She did win an ITF title in Boca Raton a few weeks ago but her form has since dwindled sharply on clay. In WTA Guadalajara, she lost in the qualifiers while in ITF Bonita Springs, which was her last tournament before the French Open, she fell in the second round. Needless to say, Lepchenko has missed out on major WTA clay events like the Madrid Open and Italian Open.
Muchova v Lepchenko Prediction and Tip
Lepchenko may have played more tennis than Muchova in her career but she lacks form and momentum at the moment. Expect the Czech to win this game.
Tip: Muchova to win in straight sets: 4/5 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
