Fabio Fognini v Federico Delbonis Head to Head
The pair have met seven times before, and Fognini leads their head to head series by five matches to two. All but one of those encounters have been on clay, the exception being a first round match at Wimbledon in 2016 which Fognini won.
Their last meeting was in the second round of this tournament two years ago, the Italian winning in four sets. ,

Fognini’s Comfortable Progression to Round Three
Fognini made the quarter-final here in Paris back in 2011m and he has twice made the fourth round, and now he has yet another third round appearance to his name.
The Italian has yet to drop a set at this year’s championship, having begun with a comfortable victory over local man Gregoire Barrère on Sunday, who was given a wildcard for this tournament.
Marton Fucsovics of Hungary, the world 44, provided a tougher challenge, at least on paper, but, after a keenly contested first set, it was mainly one way traffic for the Italian.
The match began with a service break apiece, and again in the middle of the set.
With nothing more to separate them it went to a tie-break, which Fognini duly won on his second set point.
Fognini then reeled off five games in a row to establish a dominant lead in the second set, and the Hungarian could only hold once, as the Italian took control.
The writing was clearly on the wall when Fucsovics dropped his opening game of the third set. And Fognini undermined his dominance with a further break. From there he served out to wrap up proceedings in two hours and 20 minutes.

Delbonis Makes Third Round for the First Time
This is the first time that Delbonis has made the third round in Paris, after eight previous attempts, and it is now his best ever run in any Grand Slam event.
But, if his first round victory over Radu Albot of Moldova was relatively straightforward, the same could not be said for Wednesday’s match against the Spaniard, Pablo Andujar, the world 68, the main who had caused a big upset by knocking out Dominic Thiem in their first round match.
The match began with the first three games going against serve. At the end of that sequence, Andujar led, and he maintained that advantage to take the first set.
However, he was broken in turn early in the second set, and Delbonis then consolidated his position with a further break to level the match.
The pair swapped service breaks early in the third set, but Andujar then forced another break and served out to go ahead once more.
A similar pattern emerged in the fourth set, with the crucial difference being this time that it was Delbonis who got the second break, forcing the match into a fifth and deciding set.
Andujar began it badly, dropping his opening two service games. He got one of them back, but almost immediately, the Argentine restored his double break lead.
The Spaniard saved one match point, but with games back on serve, Delbonis converted his second, to extend his stay in Paris.
Fognini v Delbonis Prediction and Tip
Fognini has a good record in Paris, is laying well, and is up against a man he has generally got the better of in their previous matches.
