Barbora Krejcikova v Leylah Annie Fernandez Head to Head

World No. 11 Barbora Krejcikova has lost just one match in her last four tournaments. In other words, she has won three of her last four events on the WTA Tour – the Strasbourg Open, French Open, and her home tournament of the Prague Open 2021.
Her sole defeat in this time came at the hands of Ash Barty in the fourth round of the Wimbledon – something that isn’t too surprising since the Aussie is the #1 ranked player in the world right now.
Nonetheless, Krejcikova’s win-loss tally now stands at 35-10, including her first-round win over Zarina Diyas here in Tokyo. In fact, Diyas withdrew from the match in the first set, giving the Czech a walkover into the second round.
Krejcikova was also a runner-up in the WTA Dubai earlier this season, losing to Garbine Muguruza in the final. Needless to mention, 2021 is the best year she has had as a singles player since turning pro and by the looks of it, the 25-year-old is set to go only further.

Fernandez Survives Yastremska
18-year-old Canadian Leylah Annie Fernandez is competing in her first-ever Olympic Games and had to overcome a slight hurdle in her opening-round match against Dayana Yastremska of Ukraine.
She won the match 6-3, 3-6, 6-0, to reach round two. As the only Canadian in the bracket, Fernandez will look to make her country proud but her lack of form and more importantly, experience, may prove to be her downfall.
However, she is a promising player with a bright career ahead of her. Earlier in the year, she won her maiden singles title in Monterrey, beating Viktorija Golubic in the final. However, consistency is yet to become her strong suit as in the following events, Fernandez was beaten right in the early rounds, taking her W/L tally to 14-12.
Her last tournament was Wimbledon where she fell in the first round to Jelena Ostapenko.
Krejcikova v Fernandez Prediction and Tip
Krejcikova’s form is absolutely sensational right now. It is hard to imagine her falling to the Canadian teenager who is riding low on experience and possibly, form.
Expect a clinical performance from the Czech.
