Can Brengle Get the Better of Rogers for the First Time Since 2014?
Brengle currently holds a 50% W/L ratio for the year as well as a 50% W/L ratio on the hard courts. The former top 40 player is looking to get her first win over Rogers for 7 years.
The American has had success on the ITF circuit this year, making it all the way to the final in Charleston without dropping a set. Brengle successfully defeated Osuigwe, Royg, Volynets, and Frech along the way, falling at the last hurdle to Liu 6-2 7-6(6) to take home the runners-up trophy.
The 31-year-old also reached the semi-final in Concord just a few weeks ago, defeating Inglis, Sun, and Busca along the way, losing out in the semis to Zarazua 2-6 6-4 6-2.
Brengle also made a 3rd round appearance at Wimbledon this year, impressively defeating Kenin the 2nd round 6-2 6-4. However, was comfortably beaten by Golubic 6-2 6-1 in the R32.
