Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova v Varvara Gracheva Head to Head
Pavlyuchenkova and Gracheva have been involved in just one career, head-to-head meeting till date. They ran into each other in the second round of the 2019 Kremlin Cup, with Pavlyuchenkova prevailing in three sets.

Pavlyuchenkova Fights Past Schmiedlova
After finishing runner-up at this year’s French Open, Pavlyuchenkova couldn’t take to her gains from Roland-Garros into the lawns of All England as she crashed out in the third round at the Wimbledon Championships.
Seeking to rise from her Wimbledon disappointment and gun for glory at the Canadian Open, the Russian fell short of her expectations as she went out in the third round after losing to Jessica Pegula of the US.
Coming into the US Open short of a gallop in terms of match wins and confidence, Pavlyuchenkova opened her campaign against Alison Riske of the US.
And, the Russian World No.15 produced a masterclass against the seasoned American, trouncing her opponent in straight sets to set up a second-round meeting with rising Slovakian star Anna Karolina Schmiedlova.
All the pre-match predictions of the second-round clash being a close contest seemed to be ringing true, as the Slovakian fought back from the loss in the opening set to take the match to a decider.
However, class told in the end as the Russian dominated Schmiedlova in the decider to come through in three sets.
Though she won their only previous head-to-head meeting with compatriot and her third-round opponent Varvara Gracheva, it took a lot of effort to go past the finish line.
Hence, she would be wary of a similar challenge from her fellow countrywoman this time as well.

Gracheva Shocks Badosa
Coming into the year’s last Grand Slam on the back of a run to the semifinal at the Chicago Women’s Open, her last event, the 82nd-ranked Gracheva opened her US Open campaign against Nuria Parrizas-Dias of Spain.
The Russian fought back after losing the first set to eventually prevail 5-7, 6-0, 6-2. The win saw her set up a second-round clash with fast-rising Spaniard Paula Badosa.
Taking the momentum from the last two sets in her first-round win, Gracheva routed Badosa 6-4, 6-4 to storm into round 3.
While she would be itching to get even with fellow countrywoman Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and secure passage to the pre-quarters, the task is easier said than done against an opponent who had the better of her in their only previous head-to-head clash and knows how to eke out close wins at big events.
Pavlyuchenkova v Gracheva Prediction and Tip
Purely going by the rankings and their previous head-to-head result, Pavlyuchenkova would start as an absolute favorite in this third-round battle. However, as she showed in her win over Badosa, Gracheva could take down the top stars on her day.
Tip: Pavlyuchenkova to win in straight sets: 10/11 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
