Korda Resumes Competition After Australian Open

Sebastian Korda had a turbulent start to 2022. He tested positive for Covid on arrival in Australia and had to forfeit his place at the Adelaide International – one of the warm-up tournaments for this year’s Australian Open.

But once Korda was out of isolation, he produced the biggest surprise in the first round of the year’s first Major. He upset the British No. 1 Cameron Norrie in devastating fashion, dropping just seven games en route to a straight-sets victory.

The lanky American went on to reach the third round of the Australian Open on his main draw debut, which represented a step in the direction.

Korda elected to forgo a trip Down Under last year in order to accumulate matches at lower-level tournaments. He played in Delray at the start of 2021 and was generously rewarded with a run to his first ATP final.

The American returns to Florida’s southeast coast a completely different player this time. Not only is Korda a Top 50 player, but he is also an ATP champion, having won his maiden title on the clay courts of Parma in 2021.

Kokkinakis Became Grand Slam Champion In Melbourne

The Australian summer series will live long in the memory bank of Thanasi Kokkinakis and the Australian faithful. Amid the furore surrounding Novak Djokovic’s eligibility to play the event taking center stage, there were plenty of major headlines to digest.

And perhaps the least of those was Thanasi Kokkinakis winning the doubles title alongside Nick Kyrgios –  his first Grand Slam win on the senior tour.

Lest we forget, Kokkinakis had won his first ATP title in the build-up to the Australian Open, at the Adelaide 2 International, taking out a long list of big-servers and big-hitters. But his singles campaign at the Australian Open did not go to plan when he lost in the first round to Yannick Hanfmann

After years of pain and perseverance in the treatment room, his hard work has paid off.

Korda v Kokkinakis Prediction and Tip

Kokkinakis’ talent has never been in doubt, but injuries held him back for some years. Now that he is playing injury-free, he is showcasing his ability at the highest level. But given that both Kokkinakis and Korda are playing for the first time since Melbourne, we should probably sit on the fence on the Moneyline market.
