Kamilla Rakhimova v Irina Bara Head to Head
This is the first meeting between the two players.

Rakhimova Knocks out Maia
Kamilla Rakhimova arrived in Bogota with a win-loss tally of 1-5; she had lost her last five opening-round matches in St. Petersburg, Doha, Monterrey, Indian Wells, and Miami.
But against all odds, she has turned it around here with a couple of impressive wins over Aleksandra Krunich and the number two seed Beatriz Haddad Maia. Both those matches went to three sets with the one against Maia ending with a 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 win for the 20-year-old.
Currently ranked World No. 111, Rakhimova has had her moments on the tour but consistency continues to elude her. Earlier in the season, she reached the quarterfinal in Melbourne 2 as a qualifier while in the US Open last year, she reached the third round – again from the qualifiers.
As for her form on clay, she seems quite adept; she reached the second round in her maiden French Open appearance while last year, was the runner-up in Bastad Challenger and ITF Zagreb.

Bara, Looking Confident
Irina Bara is also looking good in Bogota as she dismissed Paula Ormaechea and Suzan Lamens to reach the quarters.
Before this, Bara had endured a similar rut to Rakhimova’s with a litany of early qualifying exits in St. Petersburg, Doha, and the BNP Paribas Open. She last played in the Marbella Challenger where she lost in the opening to Panna Udvardy.
The 27-year-old Romanian is ranked World No. 118 and much of her success has come on clay. Bara has 21 ITF finals to her name – all on clay courts, and has also reached the third round in the 2020 French Open.
Like Rakhimova, however, Bara too lacks the main-tour experience. But given her considerably longer time on the tour, she should do well to win here.
Bara v Rakhimova Prediction and Tip
While Rakhimova will start as the odds-on favourite, Bara’s chances of winning this one are not too bad either. She makes for a good underdog bet and may very well win this one – provided she brings her A game. In either case, we can expect this one to be a long match of tennis.
