Casper Ruud v Botic van de Zandschulp Head to Head

This will be the third meeting between both players, with the Dutchman leading 2-0. Their first meeting was at the 2021 US Open and more recently on the clay courts of Munich.

Ruud Seeks Clay Boost Ahead of Paris

The 2022 season began well for Casper Ruud winning the title in Buenos Aires and being runner-up in Miami.

Coming to the European clay swing, it has not been easy going for the Norwegian.

Losses to Grigor Dimitrov at Monte Carlo, Pablo Carreno Busta in Barcelona and Van de Zandshulp in Munich has all but seeded doubts in Ruud’s mind and suddenly one of the best clay court players of 2021 is desperately seeking  confidence boosting wins.

It has been somewhat up and down for Ruud as he has performed well in early rounds but unable to keep the momentum going into the decider.

The Norwegian will be looking for a deeper run here that will do his belief a world of good ahead of Roland Garros.

Van de Zandschulp In Good Form

With an 8-4 record on clay this season, Botic Van de Zandschulp has looked in good nick and continued to impress everyone after his breakthrough 2021 season.

One of those performances consisted of van de Zandschulp reaching the final of the Munich Open where he had to retire from the encounter because of an injury but that was not before he had gotten past Casper Ruud and Miomir Kecmanovic in the previous two rounds.

It was a clinical opening round display here at Rome by the Dutchman,  where he played American Seb Korda and the Dutchman put up a clay court display we may soon need to get used to.

Korda has been in good touch and even defeated Carlos Alcaraz in Monte Carlo but was a sorry figure  against the Dutchman winning only five game in the match.

Ruud v Van de Zandschulp Prediction and Tip

Although the Dutchman has been in good form and got the better of Ruud twice already, one can expect a good contest from Ruud as he searches form just in time for Roland Garros.

Expect Ruud to win in a hard-fought three-setter.

Tip: Ruud to win in three sets : 3/1 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
