Stefanos Tsitsipas v Grigor Dimitrov Head to Head
Stefanos Tsitsipas brings a commanding 4-1 lead in the series. The Greek has notched three of his four wins against Dimitrov on clay, so he should be the favorite to upstafe the Bulgarian once more.

Room For Improvement For Tsitsipas
When Stefanos Tsitsipas won the Monte Carlo Masters in April, he was on cloud nine. Wins over close rival Alexander Zverev and surprise finalist Davidovich Fokina ensured that the Greek would leave Monaco with the gold for the second year in a row.
And the bigger picture then was that Tsitsipas was destined to be a headline maker for the next month including this year’s French Open. But while that scenario is possible, the Greek has lost the plight of his destiny heading to the Italian Open this week.
Tsitsipas has suffered two possibly damaging defeats in the build-up to Roland Garros. He has yet to solve the Carlos Alcaraz riddle (not that anyone can right now) after losing to the young Spaniard in Barcelona, and then against Zverev in Madrid.
I guess we will find out Tsitsipas’ true colors this week, but the chances of walking out of Rome with the trophy this week are lower than at the Principality.

Dimitrov Holds Off Nakashima
Grigor Dimitrov scored his eighth win on the European clay after seeing off Brandon Nakashima 6-3 6-4 in his Rome opener. Dimitrov produced a fine performance of clay-court excellence taking close to two hours to hold off the spirited American.
Dimitrov broke Nakashima early in each set, and although he was broken straight back, he did not allow the World No. 76 any further advantage. The Bulgarian measured his shots and produced one outrageous forehand winner on the stretch in the middle of the second set.
One area that will need improvement will be his first serve. Although he won 24 out of 32 points, he landed just 45% of first serves and conceded six double faults. A player of Tsitsipas’ caliber who is aggressive behind the first return shot will find relative ease in breaking the Dimitrov serve.
And as evident in their last two matches (in Madrid and Barcelona), Dimitrov has struggled to cope with Tsitsipas’ baseline fluidity. So will that change in Rome?
Tsitsipas v Dimitrov Prediction and Tip
Tsitsipas has undone all the good work that Dimitrov has put in on the European clay in 2022. The Greek is eyeing a third straight win in as many weeks against the Bulgarian, and I fancy his chances of doing just that on Wednesday.
Tip: Tsitsipas to win in straight sets: 11/10 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
