Alex Molcan v Tallon Griekspoor Head to Head
There have been two meetings between these two players, one apiece at the Challenger and the highest level and Griekspoor has won them both. Their last meeting came at Halle earlier this year, on grass and it resulted in a 7-6 (10), 6-3 win for Griekspoor.

And in his first match-up against this very opponent, Griekspoor, Molcan showed some sparkle, fighting hard in the first set before going down and continuing to remain on zero victories on grass.
It was in the first round of this tournament in Mallorca that Molcan finally carved out his maiden victory, registering a shock win over Miomir Kecmanovic. Going in at 17/10 underdog in this opener, he refused to get cowed down by his superior opponent’s experience.
In the end, Molcan won 7-5, 6-4 to seal his first ever second round berth in a grass court competition.

Griekspoor Needs Two Tiebreakers
Feliciano Lopez might be past his prime but on grass, he can still pack bit of a punch. And that is exactly what happened before Griekspoor finally found a way to get past his opponent, needing two tie-breakers to win it.
In a match lasting an hour and 47 minutes, Griekspoor endured 15 aces from Lopez and saved three break-points to register a 7-6 (3), 7-6 (3) win and move into the second round.
There were no breaks of serves in the entire match and almost nothing to separate the two players till they got to the tie-breakers.
Griekspoor, who had reached the second round at both, Halle and Rosmalen in the last two weeks, raced off to a 6-1 lead in the first tie-breaker, and 4-1 in the second. There was no coming back from there for his Spanish opponent.
