Baez Hoping to Continue Clay Excellence
Sebastian Baez has played superb tennis on clay this year and his 22-10 record on the surface proves that. Overall it’s been a breakout year for Baez. He won his maiden trophy in Estoril, he’s played well on a couple of surfaces and he’s proving that he’ll be a very good player in the next few years.
He’s a very attacking player that likes to dictate play and despite his shorter stature, Baze largely moves well around the court. The Argentine player had a fairly decent debut at Wimbledon losing in round two of the event to David Goffin. Now he’ll be back on clay for a couple of weeks trying to get some more points in.
The Bastad event is a very strong one but he’ll have a say with his attacking play that works well on this surface. He’s still dealing with the odd match where he just can’t hit the court properly and players with a lot of variety can give him trouble.
Luckily for him, Rinderknech is not that player and he should be pretty familiar with what he’s going to get against the French player.

Rinderknech Hoping To Get Back to Winning
Arthur Rinderkench is having a fairly solid season with a 20-16 record and that’s very good. The French player doesn’t have to think long about the time he played challengers exclusively so this is a positive season for him. Clay is his best surface behind hard courts but it’s highly dependent on the situation.
His serve is his main weapon and he has some solid groundstrokes to back it up but if his serve is not working it’s a problem. Clay events like Madrid in higher altitudes are really good for him but Bastad might be troublesome with a fairly low altitude.
It’s a very slow court and it won’t be that great for him. Even so, he’s hoping to get back to winning way here after a two-match stay in Salzburg. He won one match but lost the other and that’s not good enough.
He can play well on this surface so perhaps things will shift here.
Baez v Rinderknech Prediction and Tip
For me, this is a rather simple play. Baez is the better player overall, he’s better on clay and his playstyle by default should give his opponent a lot of trouble. He can stand back to catch all those strong serves and once play develops, Rinderknech will be in trouble.
I’d be quite surprised if the Argentine does not win this match.
Tip: Baez to win in straight sets: 10/11 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
