Andrea Petkovic v Misaki Doi Head to Head

Last year’s runner-up Andrea Petkovic got her campaign off to a great start as she knocked out fellow German Tamara Korpatsch in straight sets.
The eighth seed had a built a 5-2 lead in the first set thanks to a double break but the World no. 112 got a break back to keep the set alive. Petkovic however broke for a third time in teh next game to seal the first set.
In the second, Petkovic got a solitary break in the fourth game, going on to clinch the contest 6-3, 6-3 in an hour and 20 minutes.
The 34-year-old German, ranked No. 67 in the world, had made it to the final on her debut last season, only to fall to Romania’s Elena-Gabriela Ruse.
With the win, Petkovic ended a three-match losing streak and improved her season record to 11-10. It’s been a quiet year for the former top 10 player, who reached just one quarterfinal this year at the Melbourne Summer Set 1. Can she reach another with a win on Tuesday?

Doi Ends 10-Match Losing Run
The last time Misaki Doi had won a match this year, it was on March 9 in Indian Wells. Since then the Japanese left-hander had lost 10 matches in a row, including qualifiers.
But the 31-year-old arrested the skid on Monday as she knocked out Russian qualifier Oksana Selekhmeteva in straight sets.
The first set was a tough one with Doi saving four set points in the 10th game and two in the tiebreak, before converting her fourth set point of the tiebreak to go one-up.
After winning the first set in an hour and 23 minutes, she took just 36 minutes to seal the second set, bageling the World No. 177 for a 7-6 (12-10), 6-0 victory.
The World no. 107, who had won three matches to reach the semifinals in Adelaide, had won just two more matches this season, one of which was at an ITF event. Having scored her sixth win on Monday would have boosted her confidence and she would be hoping to continue the good work in the Round of 16.
