Ana Bogdan v Kateryna Baindl Head to Head
Baindl has a 2-1 lead against Bogdan. While the latter won in 2016, both of Baindl’s wins came last year.

Bogdan Routs Pigossi
Ana Bogdan continued to impress at the Poland Open, reaching the semifinals with a straight sets thrashing of Laura Pigossi in the quarterfinal on Friday.
The Romanian raced to a 5-0 lead in both the sets before Pigossi could win a game, but the Brazilian could manage to win just one game in both the sets as Bogdan won 6-1, 6-1 in just 66 minutes.
Bogdan saved 4 of 5 break points and converted 6 of 8 to cruise into her first tour-level semifinal of the season. The 29-year-old, who won her 14th ITF title in France earlier this year, was a semifinalist in a WTA 125 tournament in Paris in May.
This week, the World no. 108 has not dropped a set yet. Bogdan began her campaign with a 6-4, 7-6 (7-3) victory over seventh seed Nuria Parrizas-Diaz in the opening round. She then knocked out Kateřina Siniaková 6-0, 6-4 in the second round on Wednesday. Can she reach her maiden WTA final on Saturday?

Baindl Rebounds to Down Martic
Lucky loser Kateryna Baindl continued her amazing run in the tournament, with a come-from-behind win over eighth seed Petra Martic on Friday.
Baindl, who couldn’t hold serve even once in the first set, found herself 0-2 down in the second, before beginning the turnaround. She broke Martic thrice in the second to force the decider.
In the third set, Baindl broke in the fourth game but Martic wiped off the advantage in the seventh game. Baindl broke for a second time in the 10th game to win the match 1-6, 6-3, 6-4.
Having found a place in the main draw as a lucky loser, the Ukrainian ousted defending champion Maryna Zanevska 6-3, 6-3 in the first round and then went past Sara Errani 6-2, 3-0 (ret) in the second round.
This is the second straight year that the 28-year-old will be featuring in the Poland Open semifinal.
A finalist at the Taipei Open in 2018, she will be aiming to reach her second tour-level final on Saturday.
Bogdan v Baindl Prediction and Tip
Bogdan is the higher ranked player and has looked in great touch, but Baindl will hold the psychological edge having beaten the Romanian in Budapest and Linz last year. Expect a close contest with the Ukrainian winning in three.
