Bautista Agut Eyeing 11th career trophy

Roberto Bautista Agut has had a solid year overall playing two finals before this one and winning one trophy. He triumphed in Doha but lost in Mallorca. Now, in Kitzbuhel, he’ll have a chance to win his 11th career trophy and 2nd trophy of the year.

The opponent is a young player who is playing inspired tennis at home. It’s going to be tricky but one should not discount Bautista. He has a fairly decent score in finals 10-10 and he has been pretty consistent this year. When he is playing well he usually gets the job done.

Overall this year, Bautista is 26-11 and 4-3 on clay. He did not play too much clay tennis due to an injury but he’s a very good clay player because of his precise groundstrokes that make it very hard for players to stay in long rallies with him.

The conditions favour his playstyle here and he’ll certainly fancy his chance against a young player in his first ATP final.

Misolic Books Maiden ATP Final

Filip Misolic is one win away from completing the incredible cinderella run on home soil in Austria. The youngster has shown some promise on clay earlier this year but he certainly did not expect to be playing in an ATP final this year.

It comes after some brilliant performances this week that saw him beat a number of experienced players. His semifinal clash with Hanfmann was a good one that got stopped by rain at the start of the 3rd set tiebreak. It finished the day after with Misolic pulling through.

He has played solid tennis this year with a 31-12 record overall and 28-9 on clay. All of that came in the lower levels of professional tennis but he proved this week that he belongs among the best. For this run to happen on native soil, in Austria, thanks to a wild card, makes it even more special.

He needs just one more to complete the tremendous achievement and he’ll certainly have the backing of the crowd on his side.

Bautista Agut v Misolic Prediction and Tip

Finishing his match today will be an advantage for Misolic, because he got to experience the conditions sooner than Bautista. It will allow him to settle in a ncie rhythm sooner but his opponent also had to keep guessing whom he’ll play and that did not help his prep.

Bautista is better and has more experience but young players tend to rise to the occasion sometimes. I don’t think Misolic will be nervous as he wasn’t all week long and he’ll certainly put on a great show. I do think this will be close, maybe in three sets but I’ll back experience to get it done.

Tip: Bautista Agut to win in three sets: 3/1 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
