It took Raducanu a whopping two hours and 50 minutes but she managed to find her way out of trouble and carve out a gruelling but a straight-set win over Camila Osorio in her second round match.
Raducanu won 7-6 (5), 7-6 (4) in a match that saw a total of eight breaks of serves – four for both players.
The Brit later admitted it was one of the most physical match she had been a part of in her career and that showed from the statistical fact it was also the longest two-set encounter on tour this season.
The world number 10, who had earlier not wasted too much time in her opener against Louisa Chirico, is in just her third quarterfinal since winning the US Open last year. Can she now make it to a rare WTA semifinal?

Samsonova Makes it Two Shock Wins in a Row
Before coming into this tournament, Samsonova had lost seven of her past eight matches. In beating Ajla Tomljanovic in the second round, she has now won a couple of matches in a row to get her season back in some sort of a shape.
Samsonova came back from a set down to carve out a place in the last eight, overcoming Tomljanovic 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 in two hours and 18 minutes.
The Russian started off reasonably well but when she dropped her serve in the ninth game of the opening set and saw Tomljanovic run away with the win, it looked like the writing was on the wall. More so when her Aussie opponent broke her again in the very first game of the second set.
From there on, however, Samsonova came back rather strongly, breaking Tomljanovic thrice in the second set and two more times in the third to complete a turnaround win.
Can she now push her British opponent back to make it a shocking three wins in a row for just the second time this season?
Raducanu v Samsonova Prediction and Tip
Raducanu’s fitness will be a concern here given the nature of her previous contest and that might give her opponent a bit of an advantage. We could see Samsonova triumph in three.
