Mackenzie McDonald v Alex Molcan Head to Head
The pair have never played each other before. This will be the first match between the 27 year old American, and the Slovak, who is three years younger.

McDonald has a very poor record in this event, never having been beyond the first round before.
That is perhaps surprising for a man who tends to play his best tennis on hard courts on home soil, as evidenced by his run in Washington last year, where he reached the final only to lose to Jannik Sinner.
Disappointingly for him he was not able to emulate that feat this year, and was beaten in the first round last week by the Finn Emil Ruusuvouri, losing in three sets.
In fact, the last time in the past few months that he reached the third round of any event was back at the French Open at the end of May.
He needs to improve on his recent record to boost his confidence.

Molcan Beaten Finalist Twice This Year
Although Molcan has yet to win a senior ATP title yet, he has appeared in three finals in the past 15 months, all of them on clay.
He was beaten by Novak Djokovic in Serbia last year, and, in 2022, was beaten by David Goffin in Marrakech, and Cameron Norrie in Lyon.
That does not mean his game is exclusively about clay, because he won a Challenger tournament on the hard courts of Helsinki last November.
This, though, will be his first match on the surface since coming through qualifying to make the second round in Dubai in February.
After a grass court season, the highlight of which was a third round appearance at Wimbledon, it was back to clay for the Slovak, and a run to the semi-finals in Hamburg, and then a second round defeat in Umag.
McDonald v Molcan Prediction and Tip
The outcome of this match may hinge on how quickly Molcan can adapt to playing on hard courts again. If he can manage the transition without too much difficulty, he will be confident of his chances against the American, who is struggling right now.
