Daniil Medvedev v Albert Ramos-Vinolas Head to Head
There has been one previous meeting between these two players and Medvedev won that in three sets at the 2019 Barcelona Open.

For a player ranked number one in the world not too long ago, Medvedev has not had the kind of season which will please him. For starters a loss in the Australian Open final from being two sets up would rankle but what’s followed hasn’t quite been number-one-like.
Take the example of the more recent showings from Medvedev.
He was sent packing in the second round at the Montreal Masters, and then was ousted in the fourth round at the US Open – both times by Nick Kyrgios.
And even more recently, things looked to have gone worse for the Russian as he fell in his opener at Metz to Stan Wawrinka despite his opponent starting 5/1 underdog in that encounter.
What Medvedev needs is to look at a win at a time as he leads into the year-ending ATP Finals, for which he is currently fifth in the Race to the Finals.

Ramos-Vinolas 4-6 on Hard Courts
He is 34 years old but Ramos-Vinolas’ performances on clay have been so consistent that he has managed to maintain a good ranking right throughout. Currently he is 40th in the world and that’s been down to his inability to get the results going in hard court competitions.
Ramos-Vinolas did make the third round at the Montreal Masters at the start of the US Open Series but since then has lost four of the next six matches he’s played on this surface.
While he did overcome Laslo Djere in the Davis Cup, the Spaniard had to get down to Genoa to participate in a Challenger competition on clay to get some rhythm going.
And now up against the world number four, Ramos-Vinolas will know things wouldn’t be getting any easier for him.
