Stefanos Tsitsipas v Andrey Rublev Head to Head
There have been four previous encounters between these two players and such is the nature of this contest, both have won four apiece. This does not include three matches on the Challenger circuit, ATP Next Gen Finals and an exhibition match in Abu Dhabi.
They last played earlier this year in Madrid where Tsitsipas won in three, while on indoor hard courts, these players have faced off three times with Rublev having won two of them.

Tsitsipas was a favourite going into his quarterfinal against Hubert Hurkacz but given his form in recent times it wasn’t a sure-shot result in his favour.
Which is why a straight-set, albeit fighting, win over his Polish opponent, should give him just the kind of boost he would need coming up against a player of Rublev’s pedigree in this semifinal.
The Greek number one needed an hour and 43 minutes to overcome Hurkacz 7-6 (8), 6-3 but more vitally after he had saved five set-points in the first set.
Such was his clinical nature that he converted the first one he got and then stormed through with the only break-point of the second set.
If he maintains this level of fighting spirit, Tsitsipas will hold the edge even against Rublev.

Rublev Dazzles against Mannarino
While not too many expected Adrian Mannarino to put up much of a showing against Rublev, not too many would have visualised the kind of demolition-job the Russian meted out either.
Rublev was on court for just 57 minutes in his 6-1, 6-2 rout of Mannarino, a win that came close on the heels of two other one-sided wins in the competition for him.
In total, Rublev has dropped a mere 15 games spread across the three rounds and in his latest match, he broke Mannarino four times from the five chances he got. Only once did the world number nine face a break-point and he was quick to save it.
Coming up against Tsitsipas, Rublev’s only problem would be he has not been tested so far in the tournament and the Greek’s challenge would be that much higher.

Tsitsipas starts off slight favourite here and we will have to back him to edge past Rublev in a fighting match.
