Rogers on a Three-Match Losing Streak
Rogers did seem to have brought some good form from the US Open Series but that looks to have fizzled out a little over the last couple of tournaments.
The American, who had made the final at the San Jose Open and third rounds at both, the Cincinnati Open and US Open, has now lost three matches in a row.
A defeat at the hands of Ons Jabeur at the US Open was on expected lines but she would have expected to do a lot better in rounds one of the Tallinn Open and WTA Ostrava that followed. In both those matches, against Ysaline Bonaventure and Barbora Krejcikova, she didn’t win a set.
And now up against a player who is a bit of a clay court specialist, Rogers will hope she can turn things around.

Trevisan Struggles Continue to Mount
A solid showing at the French Open has earned Trevisan enough points for her to continue remaining in the top 30 of the rankings but her more recent performances will be a cause for a concern.
The Italian has won just four of the 13 matches which followed that Roland-Garros showing in what has been an abysmal performance on court. Discount two of those wins on clay, she hasn’t done much of note in hard court competitions.
It was only at San Diego last week that Trevisan broke a three-match losing streak that had followed her withdrawal from the Cleveland Open because of injury. She had shocked Maria Osorio in the first round there before going down to Danielle Collins in two easy sets.
Can she now put up some challenge to a player who is struggling for form too?
