Stefanos Tsitsipas v Dan Evans Head to Head

Tsitsipas has a 3-0 record over the Briton and what’s more, he has not dropped a set either.

Tsitsipas is 57-21 This Season

One of the top performers of 2022, Stefanos Tsitsipas is three wins away from reaching 60 wins this year. He has already featured in seven finals this year and will be chasing his 10th career title in Paris, when he begins his campaign in the second round on Wednesday.

The Greek, who won just two of the seven finals this year, in Monte Carlo and Mallorca, has a 19-6 record at the Masters 1000 tournaments this year.

He defended the crown in Monte-Carlos to win his second Masters tournament and reached the finals in Rome and Cincinnati, falling to Novak Djokovic and Borna Coric respectively.

The world no. 5, who is playing at the Paris Masters for the fifth time, was a quarterfinalist in 2019, but lost in the second rounds in the next two years.

He is coming off a solid October on indoor courts, reaching back-to-back finals in Astana and Stockholm, but missed out on both the titles after going down to Djokovic and Holger Rune respectively.

He couldn’t make it a hat-trick of finals  as he was knocked out in the second round in Vienna by his nemesis Bona Coric.

The good news for the Greek is that the Croatian has been beaten by Corentin Moutet in the first round and he won’t have to face the Cincinnati champion if he wins his second round contest. Had both won their first two rounds they would have met in the last 16 stage.

Tsitsipas is expected to win his opener and get off to a flying start.

Evans Sees Off Nakashima

Daniel Evans was given a tough fight in the opening round but he foiled Brandon Nakashima’s efforts to score a comeback win, emerging victorious in a three-set contest.

The Briton, ranked no. 27th in the world, broke the world no. 50 twice in the first set to take a one-set-to-love lead. The American, who didn’t create a single break point opportunity in the first set, created seven of them in the second and capitalised on two of those opportunities to tie the match at one-set apiece.

It was an eventful third set, with Evans breaking in the fifth game and then saving a break point while leading the set at 4-3. He then squandered two match points on Nakashima’s serve in the ninth games, but eventually held serve in the very next game to clinch the two hour and 10 minute contest 6-3, 3-6, 6-4.

Evans won as many as 28 of 34 net points in the match on his way to a 30th tour-level win of the season.

This is the first time in three tries that he has won an opening round match at the Paris Masters. He’s coming off back-to-back quarterfinals in Antwerp and Vienna. Can he keep the good work going in Paris?

Tsitsipas v Evans Prediction and Tip

Such has been Tsitsipas’ dominance in the past three meetings that Evans will be under pressure even before the start of the match. And given the Greek’s current form, this should be another one-sided affair with Tsitsipas dominating.

Tip: Tsitsipas to win: 7/19 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
