Paula Badosa v Daria Kasatkina Head to Head
There have been three previous meetings between these two with all of them having come in 2022. Kasatkina leads 2-1 having won in Rome and San Jose while Badosa’s only win came in Sydney last season.

Kasatkina Hands Kvitova First Loss
Petra Kvitova had come into this match as a favourite thanks to the kind of form she had shown at the start of the season. Two wins at the United Cup were followed by two more wins here in Adelaide and while Kasatkina is ranked higher than Kvitova, it was the Czech who started off a favourite.
It was Kasatkina, however, who played like one.
In a match lasting an hour and 34 minutes, the Russian carved out a 6-3, 7-6 (3) win over Kvitova, having her the first defeat of 2023.
The first set saw four breaks of serves in the first six games before Kasatkina ran away with the set from a 3-3 scoreline. In the second, it was Kvitova who broke first, in the seventh game, but Kasatkina responded immediately with one too and it soon brought them to a tie-breaker.
Kasatkina might have lost her opener in Adelaide last week but wins over Barbora Krejcikova in the second round here and now against Kvitova should fill her with oodles of confidence coming into both, this semifinal and the Australian Open that follows.

Badosa Comes Through in a Haddad Maia Scuffle
It wasn’t the easiest of straight-set wins but Badosa will be relieved to have continued with her winning run which now stands at four victories in a row.
Following on from her only showing in the United Cup singles in the first week of the new season, Badosa entered the Adelaide International in a bid to get some more practice under her belt before the Australian Open.
And the Spaniard has done well in not just doing that but also winning matches against tricky opponents.
After defeating Anett Kontaveit and Kaia Kanepi in her first two rounds here, Badosa edged out Beatriz Haddad Maia in the quarterfinal in a match lasting two hours and 35 minutes.
In a match where there wasn’t much to choose between the two, Badosa frittered away three set-points in the first set before clinching it off her fourth. In the second, Badosa saved two break-points before breaking her opponent in the 11th game and served it out.
Can she now make it five wins in a row?
Badosa v Kasatkina Prediction and Tip
There is absolutely nothing to choose between these two, in-form players. We could have a three-setter here or much like Badosa’s previous match, a long-lasting two-setter which can go either ways.

- Moderate Risk Tip: Over 22.5 games in the match: 5/6 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
- Moderate Risk Tip: Three sets in the match: 6/5 (Click Here to Bet with 888Sport)
