Grigor Dimitrov v Alexander Bublik Head to Head
There have been four previous meetings between these two and both have won a couple of times. Bublik went 2-0 up with wins at Chengdu and Wimbledon in 2019 and 2021 respectively while Dimitrov was victorious in their last two matches at the Cincinnati Masters 2021 and Indian Wells Open 2022.

Dimitrov Eases Past Brouwer
It was Dimitrov’s eighth win of the season as he mowed Gijs Brouwer down in straight sets to make it to the quarterfinal. Dimitrov needed just 66 minutes for his 6-3, 6-2 victory over his 116th-ranked opponent after having earned himself a first round bye.
The fourth seeded Dimitrov faced three break-points in the entire match but saved all of them easily. At the same time he turned the screws on Brouwer’s serving, clinching three breaks of serves from the seven opportunities he got to move ahead in the tournament.
Earlier last week, Dimitrov had reached the semifinal of the Rotterdam Open with solid performances against Aslan Karatsev, Hubert Hurkacz and Alex de Minaur. He had lost to Daniil Medvedev after that but it also meant that he has been able to maintain his ranking in the 20s.
Can he now get past an opponent who has finally managed his first set of wins of the season in Marseille?

Bublik Makes it Two in Two
It had been such a woeful season for Bublik that winning back to back matches here in Marseille would be so much relief. In fact, woeful is an understatement of its own with Bublik having entered this tournament on a back of an eight-match losing streak.
In the first round Bublik finally managed to get past Filip Krajinovic in a tough three-setter to register his first win of the season. And he has followed it up with a straight-set rout of Gregoire Barrere.
Bublik needed 64 minutes to crush Barrere 6-4, 6-2 and move into the last eight of the tournament, making it his first set of successive wins since Basel in October 2022. In doing so, he also avenged his defeat at the hands of the same opponent at the Montpellier Open two weeks ago.
The opposition quality suddenly changes drastically in this last eight match but Bublike will know Dimitrov has consistency issues at times. Can he register his third win in a row and a third against Dimitrov as well?
Dimitrov v Bublik Prediction and Tip
Dimitrov will start off a favourite and while Bublik looks to have found himself a way back to winning again, it might not be an easy one for him to repeat that against the world number 25.
