Miomir Kecmanovic v Ugo Humbert Head to Head

Including the Olympics 2021 meeting in Tokyo, these two have faced off six times and both players have won three matches apiece. It’s 2-2 in hardcourt competitions.

Kecmanovic on a Three-Match Losing Streak

Kecmanovic looked to have returned to his best at the Delray Beach Open where he made the final last month. Unfortunately for him, he has struggled to get moving after that, losing three matches in a row.

He first went down to Taylor Fritz in that title-decider, and then lost in the first round of the Acapulco Open to Denis Shapovalov.

The Serb earned a first round bye in Indian Wells two weeks ago as one of the 32 seeded players but couldn’t do too much damage after that. He was blown away in straight sets by Stan Wawrinka.

What would be interesting to see is if he can add positively to his 6-7 win-loss record for the season.

Humbert Benefits from Monfils’ Withdrawal

After having made the third round at the Indian Wells Open, Humbert had started off a favourite in his opening round match against Gael Monfils. As it turned out he did not spend a lot of time on court, advancing to the second round following Monfils’ withdrawal

The score was 3-3 in the first set when Monfils opted to retire from the encounter as he looked to be in intense pain at the changeover.

Earlier this season, Humbert had made the third round at the Australian Open with wins over Richard Gasquet and Denis Kudla. It had turned out to be his best showing of the season and while he did finish a runner-up at the Pau Challenger, Humbert will cherish his performances in Melbourne and as it turned out, in Indian Wells more than anything else.

A win here will help him emulate those showings too and with Kecmanovic’s form looking slightly dodgy, it could turn out to be another chance for Humbert.

Kecmanovic v Humbert Prediction and Tip

Absolutely nothing to choose between these two. We will have to give Humbert a slight edge here.
