The Shenzhen Open women’s tennis tournament is one of the the WTA International events and is played at the start of the tennis season, allowing players to use the competition as one of the warm-up tournaments in the lead-up to the Australian Open.

The 2020 edition of the Shenzhen Open will be played in the first week of January, kick-starting from January 6, 2020. There will be a couple of rounds of qualifiers which will be played a day or so before the main rounds begin while the final will be played on January 12.

Defending champion Aryna Sabalenka can be expected to headline the draw again, after she won the title last season beating Alison Riske in the final. Some of the other players who had participated in the Shenzhen Open last season included Caroline Garcia, Wang Qiang, Jelena Ostapenko and the star attraction Maria Sharapova.

Based on what they cost in 2019, the Shenzhen Open tickets can cost anywhere between 40 yuan on day one for a student’s ticket to 350 yuan for a VIP ticket for the final.

The main matches are played on the Center Court, while other games are played on the outdoor courts.
