Stefanos Tsitsipas v Adrian Mannarino Head to Head

The players have never met on the ATP circuit yet.

Tsitsipas Looking to Continue Good Season

After a breakthrough 2018, Greek young sensation Stefanos Tsitsiaps has continued his form to what has thus far been a strong season for him. 2019 got off to the perfect start for Tsitsipas with an Australian Open semi-final appearance that involved a fourth round victory over Roger Federer. Tsitsipas has also won ATP 250 titles at Marseille and Estoril as well as appear in the finals of the ATP 500 in Dubai, losing to Roger Federer.

Tsitsipas has broken into the top ten of the ATP rankings and continued to perform consistently throughout the season. Tsitsipas did had a slight dip in form during the Sunshine Masters, with early disappointing losses. This was later alluded to a busy schedule on the tour, and fatigue as a result, by Tsitsipas

Tsitsipas has come back well on the clay since, to continue his strong 2019, winning the ATP 250 at Estoril last week. The Greek will be looking for a good performance over the next fortnight at the two clay masters events at Madrid and Rome, going into the French Open, followed by a busy summer on the tour.

His opening match at Madrid is against French veteran Adrian Mannarino.

Mannarino Hoping For Return to Form

Frenchman Adrian Mannarino has now been on the ATP tour for over a decade. While Mannarino has displayed promise over the years, his career has not risen to the heights that was once expected. The left handed Mannarino has an interesting game to watch, is agile, and covers the court well, in addition to volleying strong, and having flat effective groundstrokes.

With a game that lacks some of the power that has become the norm increasingly, Mannarino has from time to time upset top ranked players. 2017 was a promising year for him, defeating a number of top ten ranked players as well as qualifying for his first ATP 500 finals in Japan, in addition to other ATP 250 finals.

2019 thus far not been overly encouraging for the Frenchman with lackluster early losses, and he will be hoping for a reversal of fortunes sooner rather than later. Mannarino defeated Jose Sousa in three sets in the first round here in Madrid.

Tsitsipas v Mannarino Predictions & Tips

Current form, playing style and confidence are heavily stacked in favor of the Greek. Tsitsipas has gone from strength to strength in the last year or so, where as Mannarino is looking for consistency and favorable results. Expect Tsitsipas to win in straight sets.
