Simona Halep v Ashleigh Barty Head to Head
The two top 10 players have met thrice on the WTA Tour, and the head to head tally is currently at 2-1 to Halep. Their most recent encounter took place in Sydney this year, where Barty stunned the Romanian to reach the quarterfinal.
Barty, Hoping for that Sydney Repeat
Ash Barty has had a terrific season so far and presently, she is on an incredible winning streak. She won the Miami Open after defeating some big players like Kiki Bertens, Petra Kvitova, Anett Kontaveit, and Karolina Pliskova.

The two-time Madrid Open champion and two-time Italian Open runner-up has definitely got a lot of winning experience on clay. Having won the French Open last year, Halep is definitely the player to beat here in Madrid, but that is going to be a tough ask of anyone.
On the back of a rather shaky season so far, albeit she has bee fairly consistent to reach the latter rounds, Halep is particularly driven to make amends for it.
She has been nothing short of clinical in this tournament and so far, is yet to drop a set. In the three matches she has played in, she has lost only 10 games. In her last match against Viktoria Kuzmova, she served a double bagel and played what has been her “best match.”

Halep v Barty Tips and Predictions
The number 3 seed sent a strong message to the rest of the players with that ruthless win over Kuzmova. Barty, by all means, should be intimidated but she has certainly got the skillset to face Halep on clay. However, it is a whole different question whether she can upset her or not.
It will be an interesting match to follow where Halep should definitely come out on the top.
