Kiki Bertens v Amanda Anisimova Head to Head

This is the first meeting between the two players on the WTA Tour.

Bertens Enjoying a Sensational Run on Tour

Last week, Bertens won the biggest title of her career in Madrid and courtesy of that, she broke into the top five for the first time. It was a dream run where she knocked out some big names like Petra Kvitova and Sloane Stephens on her way to the final.

Bertens has proven her skills on the clay surface time and again but this time, she had the perfect opportunity to seize the moment right before the French Open. In the final in Madrid, she knocked out the two-time runner-up Simona Halep in straight sets.

That major win came after Bertens reached the semifinal in Stuttgart, where she defeated Angelique Kerber and Belinda Bencic. The number six seed earlier won the title in St. Petersburg. She has been quite consistent throughout this season, especially on clay.

Of the nine titles she has won in her career, six have been on this very surface. As the tour approaches the big stop in Paris, she is certainly becoming the player to beat.

Anisimova Gets Favoured by Luck

The 17-year-old America rose to prominence this season when she reached the quarterfinal in Auckland and the fourth round in the Australian Open.

Later, she also won her first singles title in Bogota, defeating Astra Sharma in the final. Between those two events, she also featured in Miami and Indian Wells but couldn’t do much there.

Anisimova then took brief hiatus from the tour and returned to action in Madrid, where she lost in the qualifiers. The same thing happened in Rome too, as she lost to Kristina Mladenovic. However, as a lucky loser, she got a ticket to the main draw.

She made the most of that opportunity as she defeated the Italian wildcard Elisabetta Cocciaretto in straight sets in the opener.

The American is certainly a good player on clay, having reached three clay finals on the ITF circuit and reaching the final in the 2016 French Open Junior Singles.

Bertens v Anisimova Predictions & Tips

Anisimova is undoubtedly a highly talented player with a bright future ahead of her. However, she lacks the experience and more than that, the momentum needed to knock out someone in form like Bertens. Expect this match to be a competitive affair but the number six seed should come out of it, unscathed.

Tip: Under 20.5 games in the match: 10/13 (888Sport)
