Kiki Bertens v Viktoria Kuzmova Head to Head

The two ladies have met twice this season and the tally is tied at 1-1. They first met in Dubai, where Kuzmova stunned Bertens in three sets.

They met later in Miami once again, where Bertens made things even.

Bertens with a Commanding Win

Kiki Bertens kick-started her campaign in Paris in the best way possible, with a straight-set win over her French adversary Pauline Parmentier.

The match lasted for 90 minutes and saw Bertens win the match with 6-3, 6-4. Parmentier put up a good fight and gave only a few chances to the Dutchwoman. Luckily, for a player as capable as Bertens on the clay, that’s all she needs.

Bertens won two break points out of a possible seven while doling out 20 winners. She also committed 21 unforced errors – something she will need to work on as she progresses in the tournament.

Presently, the current Cincinnati Open champion is on an incredible streak on clay. She reached the semifinal in Stuttgart and later won the Miami Open. In these two events alone, World No. 4 dispatched the likes of Angelique Kerber, Belinda Bencic, Petra Kvitova, and Sloane Stephens.

She was also a semifinalist in Rome, where she defeated Naomi Osaka. In fact, Bertens has been in a similar form throughout the season, with very only a handful of events where she couldn’t perform this well.

Kuzmova – A Formidable Foe

The 21-year-old kickstarted her bid in this year’s Roland Garros with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Alize Cornet. She won 75% of her first service points and produced 31 winners off her racquet although, she did commit 25 unforced errors. Nonetheless, it was among the better performances by Kuzmova this season.

She hasn’t had that many good runs this year, with the exception of WTA Dubai, where she reached the quarterfinal. In addition to this, Kuzmova reached the third round in Miami and Madrid, registering wins over the likes of Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Julia Goerges.

Bertens v Kuzmova Predictions & Tips

Even though Kuzmova is a strong opponent, Bertens is likely to prove a far too big a task for her. Expect this one to be sorted in straight sets.

Tip: Bertens to win 2-0: 16/25 (888Sport)
