Stefanos Tsitsipas v Thomas Fabbiano Head to Head

Tsitsipas and Fabbiano have met only once and incidentally it was at last year’s Wimbledon. The young Greek won in straight sets en route to his career best appearance at Wimbledon.

Tsitsipas Sailing New Heights

2019 has been a year to remember for young Stefanos Tsitsipas. Coming off a career-best season in 2018 in which he won the his maiden ATP tour-level title and the season-ending NextGen title, it was always going to be a challenging proposition for the 20-year-old to replicate those exploits.

But for Tsitsipas – whose rise on tour has gained national attention in Greece – he has taken the tennis world by storm with a series of breathtaking displays.

A year can sometime be a long time in tennis. Tsitsipas arrived at Wimbledon last year having won just one of the five matches he played in Grand Slam tournaments. However, this year , and particularly during the next fortnight he looks the man destined to end the Big Four’s stranglehold of the ultimate prize at SW19.

It is now 17 years since anyone other than Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic or Andy Murray won the Wimbledon title and if there was one likely contender to change the course of history, then look no further than Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Fabbiano Hit Form At Eastbourne

Thomas Fabbiano has enjoyed most of his success on the ITF and Challenger tour where he has reached seven finals in the latter and won six titles. So it was a real surprise to see him make the semifinals at Eastbourne this week especially when you consider he has lost nine straight main draw matches coming to the south coast of England.

The Italian reached the third round at the Australian Open earlier this year, but failed to win a single main-draw match for the next five months until Eastbourne where he scored three solid wins against James Ward, Laslo Djere and Queen’s runner-up Gilles Simon.

The 30-year-old has been ranked as high No.70 in the world but he is hovering just outside the Top 100 at the moment as a result of his recent poor spell. He reached the third round at Wimbledon last year, famously beating Stan Wawrinka in the second round.

Tsitsipas v Fabbiano Predictions & Tips

Tsitsipas and Fabbiano met at last year’s Wimbledon and it was the Greek who win in three easy sets. The outcome should be very similar this time as well considering the all-court game that Tsitsipas possess which I think could be thrive on grass.

Tip: Under 33.5 games in the match: 8/11 (888Sport)
