Johanna Konta v Ana Bogdan Head to Head

This upcoming match at the SW19 is set to be their second meeting on the tour. They met as recently as the WTA Rabat earlier this season, where Konta won 6-1, 6-7(2), 6-2.

Bogdan’s Tryst with Destiny

Ana Bogdan of Romania has got a date with destiny on Tuesday when she steps on the court to face Konta. She has never made it past the second round here in Wimbledon, and chances are it won’t happen this time around either.

Some may say that she isn’t as prepared as British adversary, given that Bogdan’s last tournament was the ITF event in Bol, Croatia, back in June. To make things more precarious, the 26-year-old qualifier didn’t win her first match of the season up until April, following a series of seven consecutive losses.

She reached the final in an ITF event in France but that didn’t do much for her rankings. In London, she breezed through the qualifiers in straight sets.

Konta, Hoping to Start Strong

Carrying the hopes of a nation in Wimbledon, Johanna Konta will be hoping for a strong, positive start. Her grass court preparations haven’t quite gone according to the plan, given that she fell early in Birmingham and Eastbourne.

On the other hand, she had a sensational time on the clay courts. The British No. 1 reached the final in Rabat and Rome, and the semifinal in the French Open. It is certainly great to see Konta play so well, given that just earlier this year, she was struggling a lot to get her bearings.

She reached the semifinal here back in 2017 and now, she will be hoping to at least reach that level again. The odds are certainly in her favour for the time being, but if day one has shown us anything, things can get messy real quick.

Konta v Bogdan Predictions & Tips

This one should be an easy win for Konta. At the very worst, the match may be pushed to three sets but it isn’t something that the number 19 seed cannot negotiate for a win.

Tip: Over 19.5 games in the match. (888Sport)
