Nick Kyrgios v Andrey Rublev Preview & Tips:

In their only previous meeting that was held in Moscow on indoor hard-courts, Kyrgios was a winner but that match had lasted three sets. Kyrgios is coming with a huge cloud of suspension looming large but while he did apologise for his poor choice of words in calling ATP a corrupt body, he stood by his remarks there were double standards in the sport.

What the ATP now needs to decide is whether there’s enough to suggest he could be suspended and for mere mortals, that would be enough to lose focus and roll out of the competition. With Kyrgios it’s different. He has already said he isn’t too bothered about what the ATP does, and there is no reason to believe otherwise given his track record.

Rublev, however, won’t be a pushover, having already delivered an upset result in the tournament by beating Stefanos Tsitsipas. Can he go all the way though? We think there could be a four-setter in the offing with Kyrgios shading it.

Kyrgios v Rublev Prediction: Four sets in the match: 9/5 (888Sport)

Matteo Berrettini v Alexei Popyrin Preview & Tips:

Berrettini and Popyrin haven’t played each other before this and that adds to the sparkle in this contest that could see a potential quarter-finalist. Kyrgios and Rublev are the other players in this quarter, and with Dominic Thiem also knocked out, if someone think really ahead, we could get a semi-finalist from this one.

Well, realistically speaking though, Berrettini would be hoping for his second career appearance in the round of 16 – having made the first one at the 2019 Wimbledon – while Popyrin hasn’t done that before. Big match in a lot of ways already for both.

And while Berrettini has struggled for match practice before the tournament, he has generally looked in control and starts a favourite. What we think, however, is that Popyrin has a good chance to cause an upset and make it to his maiden fourth round at a major.

Berrettini v Popyrin Prediction: Popyrin to win: 43/20 (888Sport)

Gael Monfils v Denis Shapovalov Preview & Tips:

This is a battle to watch. On the one side is a talented Frenchman who would have do a lot better than the two Grand Slam semi-finals appearances he has made in his career so far. On the other is a 20-year-old Canadian tipped to do wonderful things as a Next-Gen player but has probably suffered from the burden of early expectations and fallen in the rankings.

Shapovalov has never made past the fourth round at a Grand Slam but his best showing at a major did come at this very competition, which levels the playing field a tad despite the difference in the rankings – he is 33rd to Monfils’ 13th in the world. Tipping for an upset here.

Monfils v Shapovalov Prediction: Shapovalov to win: 27/25 (888Sport)

Pablo Andujar v Alexander Bublik Preview & Tips:

This is a first meeting between two players ranked in the 70s in the ATP rankings, which technically makes it a tough call to make. What’s surprising is that despite Andujar’s struggles on hard court surface this year – he has a 4-5 win-loss record – he still starts a favourite.

One possible reason for that could be his shock win over Kyle Edmund in the first round and the ease with which he demolished Lorenzo Sonego in the second but that’s not taking into account Bublik’s younger legs with a similar record on hard courts to boot.

Andujar v Bublik Prediction: Bublik to win: 11/10 (888Sport)
