Keys holds a domineering 5-0 lead over her Russian opponent, winning their last three encounters in straight sets. They last met in the Cincinnati Open a few weeks back, where the American defeated Kasatkina 6-4, 6-1.

Kasatkina, Hoping for a Revival in Asia
The 22-year-old Russian was on the verge of a breakthrough into the top 10 around the same time last season. However, the Kremlin Cup winner has, since then, undergone a massive slump in her form. With a win-loss tally of 9-17, she has had a season to forget.
With three wins in her last five tournaments – courtesy of her failure to move past the second round, Kasatkina has fallen in the rankings as she is now placed at the 40th position. Her best run of the season came in Miami, where she reached the third round.
However, it isn’t to say that the young Russian hasn’t got the skills needed to win. In her time on the tour so far, she has defeated the likes of Caroline Wozniacki, Garbine Mugurza, and Halep.

This will be a difficult match for Kasatkina. Not only is she going through a massive rut, but she is facing an opponent who is up 5-0 over her. It will be really impressive if she manages to overcome this psychological hurdle, but the odds, for the time being, are stacked against her.
