Borna Coric v Marton Fucsovics Head to Head

The pair have played each other once before in the second round of the Australian Open earlier this year, with Coric winning in straight sets.

Coric Plagued by Back Problems

After reaching his maiden Masters final in Shanghai last October, and helping Croatia win the Davis Cup a  month later, Coric would have been hoping to push on further this year.

Reaching the fourth round in Melbourne, the second time he had got that far in a Grand Slam, and a semi-final appearance in Dubai, followed by a quarter final in Miami, appeared to promise that more was to come.

However, that early season optimism was dissipated as a continued back injury hampered his progress. He was forced to retire from Halle, and missed Wimbledon with injury altogether. He did take his place at Flushing Meadows but was forced to withdraw before his second round match with Grigor Dimitrov

This will be his first match since then.

Fucsovics, Faded Since Early Season Form

World number 66 Fucsovics has one senior career title to his name, the Geneva Open last year. He also reached the final in Sofia in February, only to go down to Daniil Medvedev.

In fact, he showed his best form early in the season. Following that run he got to the quarter-final in Dubai, before losing to Roger Federer in straight sets, and reached the quarter finals in Munich.

Since then though the results and performances have tailed-off, apart from a brief resurgence in Stuttgart, where he again got to the last eight.

He did though have a relatively comfortable win over the Russian qualifier Alexey Vahutin in the first round on Wednesday.

Coric v Fucsovics Predictions & Tips

Coric is the favourite to win this match at 67/100, whilst Fucsovics is priced at 6/5. The one thing that may count against the Croat is his troublesome back injury. Provided there is no recurrence of the problem, he should have enough to win.

Tip: Coric to win in three sets: 3/1 (888Sport)
