Karolina Muchova v Magda Linette Preview & Predictions

In what will be the second meeting between Karolina Muchova and Magda Linette, fans could be in for a thrill-a-minute ride on Sunday. One of the reasons for that is what transpired the first time these two players met, incidentally just before the US Open earlier this year, the match went to the third set tie-breaker which Linette narrowly won to make it to the semi-final.

Linette would go on to lift the trophy at that New York Open, which was her first since 2014, making it extra-special. Now in a span of almost a month, Linette has a chance to make it two titles in as many months as she takes on the Czech world number 45.

Muchova herself has a big chance of clinching her first WTA title, having come close at the Prague Open earlier this year. She lost a pulsating final in three sets.

Another reason why this could be an exciting final is the way these two have gone about their business in the tournament so far; in very clinical fashion. Apart from been taken to a third set by Alison van Uytvanck in the first round of the competition, Muchova has sent all her opponents packing in straights.

Linette has gone one better and is yet to drop a set, winning two tight tie-breakers against second seeded Ekaterina Alexandrova in the semi-final. This is why we reckon this could go all the way to three sets, with nothing to separate the two players.

Tip: Three sets in the match: 13/5 with Unibet
