Latest ATP & WTA Rankings for September 30, 2019 – Carreno Busta, van Uytvanck Make Solid Jumps

A busy week of ATP and WTA tournaments, the rankings this Monday have some interesting changes with Pablo Carreno Busta, Alison van Uytvanck and Anna Kalinskaya among the top movers.

In the WTA rankings, the top 10 have remained unchanged with the exception of Simona Halep and Bianca Andreescu who interchanged places with the former now at 5 and the latter at 6.

Outside the top 10, there was a lot more movement. Martic broke the top 20 after reaching the quarter-finals of the Wuhan Open and losing to Barty who remains No.1 in the singles categories.

Alison Riske gained 11 spots after her finals entry at the Wuhan Open. She was defeated by Aryna Sabalenka whose rank remains unchanged at 14. Alison Van Uytvanck ranked in the top 50 after she won the Tashkent Open beating Sorana Cirstea. Cirstea who also jumped 21 places ranking at 75.

Anna Kalinskaya ranks at 100, gaining 21 positions after reaching the quarterfinals at the Tashkent Open.

In the men’s rankings, the top 20 have remained unchanged with the exception of Fabio Fognini and Gael Monfils who have traded spots and now stand at 12 and 11 respectively attributed to the fact that Monfils reached the quarter-finals of the Zhuhai Open.

Newcomer Alex de Minaur went up an astounding six places after he won his third ATP Tour title of the year, the Zhuhai Championships beating Adrian Mannarino whose ranking also increased by 18 places on reaching the finals. Minaur also beat Former world No.1 Andy Murray in the second round in his attempt to return to the ATP Tour.

Pablo Carreno Busta jumped a staggering 24 places, making the Top 50, after winning the Chengdu Open after defeating Alexander Bublik whose rankings also increased by 14 to rank at 57. Busta had played exceptionally defeating seeds Shapovalov and Paire in the early rounds of the tournament.

Mikael Ymer made the top 100 after winning the Open d’Orléans.
