Petra Kvitova v Belinda Bencic Head to Head
Kvitova holds a 3-1 lead over the Swiss, last beating her in the Australian Open earlier this year. However, the ladies also met in the final of the WTA Dubai, where Bencic defeated Kvitova to win her first singles title in more than two years.
Bencic, Going Strong

For instance, Bencic reached the semifinal in the US Open, Madrid Open, and Indian Wells Open, the final in Mallorca Open, and also won the WTA Dubai. Through her journey, she has knocked out the likes of Angelique Kerber, Naomi Osaka, Donna Vekic, among others to find her place in the top 10 once again. She has also been more or less consistent throughout the year, making her a strong contender on the circuit.

Kvitova, Looking to Rebuild her Traction
Kvitova started her season inside the top 10 and slowly, she moved up in the rankings to become World No. 2. Given the form she was in – the runner-up trophy in the Australian Open and WTA Dubai, and the title runs in Sydney and Stuttgart, many people thought that it was only a matter of time before she becomes World No. 1.
However, fate had a different plan for the two-time Wimbledon champion. Around the start of the clay swing, she succumbed to a lingering arm injury and was consequently forced to withdraw from the French Open. The same injury troubled the Czech through the grass swing and the US Open series as well, and consequently, her rankings dropped significantly in the process.
It wasn’t until Wuhan last week that Kvitova, after a good few months of recovery and re-building her form, finally found her groove. She stormed into the semifinal there where she fell to Alison Riske.
