Following her title run in Pan Pacific Open in Osaka, the 21-year-old Japanese arrived in China, looking to keep that momentum going. It’s been a pretty easy ride for her so far as she dispatched the likes of Jessica Pegula and Andrea Petkovic with absolute ease.
There has been a gradual drop in Osaka’s form over the last few months but that may very well have been a blessing in disguise.
