Monfils Continues His Impressive Indoors Record
It has been an impressive year for the 33-year-old Frenchman without a lot to show in terms of titles except Rotterdam. Earlier this year, Albot became the first player from Moldova to win an ATP title. He won the Delray Beach by beating Dan Evans of Great Britain. Apart from this landmark result, he has also reached the semifinals at Montepellier, Geneva, and Los Cabos.
This has resulted in him breaking into the top 50 in the world. Though his form has suffered in the second half of the season. In fact, Paris is the first occasion in the last nine tournaments he has played in, where he has managed to win two matches in the tournament.
This is his first time of reaching the main draw in Paris. He came through two impressive straight-sets victories in the first two rounds and is likely to gain enough ranking points this week to ensure that he ends the year in the top 50.
