Ugo Humbert v Feliciano Lopez Head to Head

This will be the first match between the two players.

Humbert Hoping to Shrug Off Early Melbourne Loss

2019 was a positive year for young and rising Next Gen Frenchman Ugo Humbert, who made the fourth round at Wimbledon and moved up the rankings from outside the top 100 to number 57 at year-end.

The new decade got off to an even better start for Humbert, who looked sharp all week at the ASB Classic in Auckland.

The young Frenchman began with a win against fellow Next Gen Norwegian Casper Ruud and followed it up with an impressive win against the in-form young Canadian Denis Shapovalov.

Humbert was then up against the big serving American John Isner in the semi-finals. Although Isner had been in strong serving form, the young Frenchman put up a spirited performance to emerge victorious in straight sets.

An unexpected finalist, Humbert was in an upbeat frame of mind going into the final as he claimed his first ATP title defeating French veteran Benoit Paire.

Expected to perform well at the Australian Open, the young Frenchman came up against Aussie John Millman in the opener and succumbed in a four-setter.

Humbert has moved up to number 43 in the world rankings and will look to carry on from where he left off in Auckland, here in his home nation.
