Martic Looking To Kick-start Her 2020 season

2019 and Istanbul in particular will forever be etched into Petra Martic’s memory for as long as she plays the game. The Croat soared to new heights, and at the age of 29, gave a further illustration it is never too late to reach your peak.

Xiyu Wang is player who is not shy of the occasional upset. She scored a memorable win as a 16-year-old on her WTA main draw debut at the Tianjin Open against Danka Kovinic.

Wang has been tipped by her close peers and the Chinese tennis community to be the heir to Li Na’s mantle as China’s next star.

Already 18 now, she won the US Open junior title in 2018 and has soared into the world’s top-200. The left-handed teenager holds multiple victories over top-100 players including Monica Puig and Rebecca Peterson.

Who knows maybe she could claim the biggest scalp of them all against the World No.15 Martic.
