Roberto Bautista Agut v Pablo Carreno Busta Head to Head

This will  be the fourth meeting between the players. Agut leads the head-to-head 2-1. Their last meeting was at the Rome Masters in 2017 which Agut won in straight sets.

Agut Off To Shaky Start in Rotterdam

Roberto Bautista Agut had the best season of his career in 2019.

Agut broke into the top ten of the ATP rankings in 2019, was a semi-finalist at Wimbledon, defeated Novak Djokovic twice and was instrumental in leading Spain to a Davis Cup victory.

This season got off to another good start for the Spaniard who won all six of his singles matches at the ATP Cup, and got off to a good start in the first two rounds of the Australian Open. In his third round encounter he ran into Marin Cilic, who in an attempt to make a comeback of sorts, put up a strong showing and prevailed in a five setter.

Agut’s Rotterdam campaign has not got off to the best of starts, with a three set  win against Marton Fucsovics, whereby he had to come back after losing the first set.

The Spaniard will be hoping for a more clinical next few rounds, assisting him to go deep in the week.

Returning to the top 30 in the rankings, Busta played a good supporting role for Team Spain in the ATP Cup, and his Australian Open campaign ended with a loss to none other than Rafa Nadal.

After a disappointing early loss last week in Montpellier, Carreno Busta will be looking for a better run here this week.
